Thanks to everyone for getting over to TJs on Sunday. The players showed great commitment and stamina to keep going for the full two hours under a blazing October sun.
Again, we had around 25 make the trip which allowed for rolling subs in the games at the end. A tremendous effort by all.
The teams won on both pitches. I was watching the Lions. The official score was, apparently, 7-6. However, I recall at least 9 tries by Edenbridge. Nevertheless, the most pleasing aspect was, no matter who was on the field, they really operated as a team, with some lovely passing, always looking for a team-mate in space and some ferocious tagging. I saw tries from Charlie (his customary hat-trick), a couple for Jared, and one each for Jago, Arthur, Wil (Lewis) and William (Clubley). This was in stark contrast to one player getting al but one of the TJs tries (which is the norm at this level). By the way, how good was that little lad???
The Tigers also put in a fantastic performance. They won 3-1. I haven't yet found out the try scorers )please feel free to add below the line but Dave told me that they were incredibly good, especially as many of them were playing a proper game for only the first time in their lives.
Well played all, and I look forward to seeing you all back at The Rec next Sunday.
